April

April 22: Wednesday: 7 p.m.—Best Mother’s Day Brunch Class…Ever!—Mom’s special day will be here before we know (and the snow might be melted by then) and she needs a day to be treated like the special person she is. You friends at Savvy will show you how to prepare a delightful Mother’s Day brunch for her and, of course, we’ll have the perfect wines to match! Registration is necessary and class size is limited to 35 persons. Click here to register.

April 24: Friday: 5-8 p.m.—Avon39 Walk Dream Girls Special Tasting—Join us for a very special evening at The Tasting Bar. It’s the culmination of Allison’s two-month endeavor to raise $1800 and walk in Avon39—The Walk to End Breast Cancer—in honor of her sister, Deb. Tickets for raffle items now in the shop will be pulled, and the winners announced and lots of surprises await you. And, 10 percent of this tasting’s sales profits will be donated to her pledged amount. Dream Girls team members will be special guest pourers. This tasting event is the most significant of the year because, not only do you have the opportunity to taste great wines, you get a chance to save a life. Pretty cool, huh? No registration is necessary for this free tasting event. Click here to see a list of the raffle items.

April 25: Saturday 1-5 p.m.—Allison’s Favorite Wines for Spring--Free Weekly Tasting. No registration necessary.

April 30: Thursday: 5-8 p.m.—Hooray for Rosé Tasting—Just because it’s pink…does not mean that it is sweet and watery. Real rosé wines are probably the most maligned and mis-understood adult beverage in America. That’s because there are so many producers of that sweet, watery stuff, sometimes called ‘blush wines,’ in the market place. We promise you that this tasting will dispel the idea that all pink is sweet…because it’s not! We are pouring four deliciously dry, amazingly flavorful, beautiful rosé wines from several wine regions around the world. One sip of these delicious rosés and you will be a fan forever! No registration is necessary for this free tasting event.

May

May 13: Wednesday: 5-8 p.m.—Special Illahe Vineyards Wine Tasting with Lance McKee of Encore Imports—Join us at The Tasting Bar for a special tasting of one of our favorite Oregon wineries. Family owned since 1983, Illahe Vineyards winemaking philosophy is simple: Their goal is to make wine as naturally as possible from the soil to the bottle. This requires working by hand on small lots with age-old techniques and materials. This philosophy results in absolutely delicious wines. No registration is necessary for this free tasting event.

May 20: Wednesday: 5-8 p.m.—Sobieski Vodka Tasting with Greg O’Hearn of Opici Wines—It’s time to break out your glass tumblers, mix up a batch of vodka cocktails, sit on your deck or patio and savor spring! Poland is the birthplace of vodka and Sobieski is the #1 selling brand there. We love these vodkas because, not only are they delicious, they’re much more affordable than many other brands. Greg will pour you a sip of Sobieski’s traditional label as well as a taste of their delicious flavored vodkas. No registration is necessary for this free tasting event.
